The Executive Committee of the International Energy Agency Energy in Buildings and Communities (IEA EBC) programme approved the IEA EBC Annex 68: “Indoor Air quality Design and Control in Low Energy Residential Buildings” in November 2015. This annex has a four year working and reporting phase. The project is investigating how to ensure that future low energy buildings are able both to improve their energy performance and to provide comfortable and healthy indoor environments.

Energy Building certifiers in Lombardy may access to a new service provided by Regional Body for Energy Certification of Buildings which promotes new low carbon buildings (corresponding to the A+, A and B class of energy performance). Each selected building demonstrates through images and technical descriptions related to certified buildings, a new culture focused on the design, the construction and purchase / lease of buildings with very low energy consumption.
