The European Commission aims to analyse the competitiveness of the European heating and cooling industry. Four case studies of successful and competitive deployment of heating and cooling solutions at a city level from selected organizations support this analysis. The case studies aim to illustrate how competitive renewable energy technologies such as solar-thermal, biomass, biogas and heat pump are in the context of different local factors across Europe, and what are their impacts on local communities.

The 3-storey detached house was completed in 2019 and was built as a mixed construction (solid / wood).    The basis for the planning is an energy-efficient and ecological construction, which ensures a sustainable lifestyle with low energy consumption and associated minimum energy costs.    The heating of the object takes place via an air heat pump. The installation of a comfort ventilation ensures fresh, healthy air.

“We will co-finance the procurement and installation of biomass boilers and heat pumps by individuals with HRK 12 million. Depending on the location of the house, it is possible to get co-financing of between 40% and 80% of the project value, but not more than HRK 35,000 including VAT, to install a biomass system or up to HRK 45,000 for heat pump systems,” FZOEU Director Dubravko Ponoš said.

Numerous studies and surveys indicate that typically-installed HVAC equipment operate inefficiently and waste considerable energy due to varied installation errors (faults) such as improper refrigerant charge, incorrect airflow, oversized equipment, and leaky ducts. This article summarises the results of a large United States (U.S.) experimental/analytical study of the impact that different faults have on the performance of an air-source, single-speed heat pump (ASHP) in a typical U.S. single-family house.

Heat Pumps in near Zero Emission Buildings (nZEB) - in the new issue of the HPT Magazine!   Heat pumps is an excellent choice for low energy buildings! This is evidenced by the three projects (so called annexes) - within the Technology Collaboration Programme on Heat Pumping Technologies (HPT TCP) - that have been devoted to them, as well as the number of countries that have been participating in them. In the latest issue of HPT Magazine, we get an overview of the benefits of using heat pumps in low energy buildings.
