When investing in energy efficient building projects, the actual energy performance of the buildings regularly turns out to be worse than what was predicted pre-construction.
This puts investments at risk as the return on investment is lower due to higher energy costs.

The European Commission has asked advisors to rework the EU’s green finance taxonomy rules after member states rejected draft implementing guidelines, unhappy about the exclusion of gas as a “transition” activity towards net-zero emissions.
“On Wednesday, 20 January, we requested the Platform on Sustainable Finance to provide further input on the taxonomy framework,” said Aikaterini Apostola, an EU Commission spokesperson.

Architecture firm Dialog has revealed plans for a cross-laminated timber higher education building in Canada, which it says will be the first of its kind.
