  The AZEB methodology organizes the sometimes overwhelming amount of existing solutions for affordable nZEBs and intends to facilitate both decision makers and experts in their projects.   Each of the 27 steps in the methodology represents a set of important and unique activities and/or decisions which help to create affordable nZEBs. They are organized within the four main project phases: initiative, design, construction and use & maintenance.

The topic of manipulated testing results, or “circumvention” is currently exposed to the highest attention of the public and media, not only for the emission of cars (“dieselgate”) but also with regard to other EU legislation. For this reason the project “ANTICSS – Anti-Circumvention of Standards for better market Surveillance” has been funded by European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

The E2VENT system that we will develop is an external thermal refurbishment solution with external cladding and air cavity (fig.1).   The distinctive feature of this system is the Smart Modular Heat Recovery Unit allowing us to recover energy from the extracted air while performing the air renewal using double flux heat exchanger in the air cavity (fig.2).

The construction industry has traditionally been a male sector, a condition that has been justified, among other issues, by the harsh conditions of work.   However, the evolution of the sector towards greater mechanization makes it possible for men and women to access and execute the same professional tasks in equal rights and opportunities.

Its objective was to study behavior and interactions among individuals and their impact on energy efficiency and climate change mitigation.   The project aimed at increasing our understanding of human behavior in relation to the environment by developing models able to incorporate the heterogeneity and the complex dynamics of individual and group decision making.
