Klimahouse, a leading trade show for innovations in the sustainable construction sector, is organising the 3rd edition of Klimahouse Startup Village to coincide with Klimahouse 2019 at the Bolzano Exhibition Center. Running from 23rd to 26th January, the 4-day programme will feature events dedicated to the startups working in the sector.
Klimahouse will also host the “Klimahouse Startup Award”, a prize conceived to honour the sector’s best startups and innovative businesses at European level.

As of 1 September 2018 energy intensive and inefficient halogen lightbulbs will no longer be sold across the European Union. As a result of these rules, European consumers will be able to save on their household bills and, by addressing this at EU level, this will mean significant EU-wide energy savings – equivalent to the electricity consumption of Portugal over 5 years.

The STUNNING Renovation Hub, a virtual platform for the interactive knowledge exchange in energy-efficient building renovation, was launched by the EU-funded, Horizon 2020 project STUNNING in September 2018. It enables stakeholders throughout the value chain to share knowledge and experiences with each other through articles on their innovative refurbishment packages, replicable business models and case studies on their successful implementation.

This report summarizes the highlights from the European Copper Institute's (ECI) inputs to the Interim Report and the Second Progress Report by the consortium on the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) for buildings. ECI welcomes the Commission’s effort to establish a comprehensive methodology, but has also some important recommendations to improve the current version of the methodology and prevent it from acting against the very purpose of the SRI.

This Inter-laboratory Comparison testing project is one of a series of efficient lighting compliance activities under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)-Global Environment Facility (GEF) en.lighten initiative project “Securing climate change benefits of efficient lighting in Southeast Asia and Pacific economies via MVE capacity building activities”, which is funded by the Australian Government. It was designed in compliance with ISO/IEC 17043, Conformity assessment - General requirements for proficiency testing.

This open-source tool helps users model the potential savings that a country could realise by a rapid transition to energy-efficient lighting.
The model forecasts the electrical energy and carbon dioxide emission savings potential of efficient lighting regulations relative to a business-as-usual scenario. The model baseline is the estimated 2010 installed stock and energy consumption from the en.lighten Country Lighting Assessments.

ZERO-PLUS project - Development of intelligent models for realtime performance assessment of NZE settlements
The monitoring and evaluation of the settlements’ performance is an essential part of the ZERO-PLUS project. Under the framework of the task “Intelligent models for performance assessment and reliability-centered maintenance” intelligent data processing models have been developed. The models are intended to be incorporated in the Web-GIS platform for performance assessment and increased reliability of the ZERO-PLUS case studies’ implementation.
