This paper presents the RELaTED decentralized Ultra-Low Temperature DH network scheme, and its adaptation to several operational schemes such as new and existing DH networks, with different levels of complexity. Transitory phases in the conversion process are discussed. District heating (DH) systems are one of the most energy efficient heating systems in urban environments, with proven reliability within many decades already.

The EU-funded ABRACADABRA project has developed 3 decision support tools for this purpose which you can test for free. Case study buildings should either have planned energy renovations or have already undergone renovations. Tools and analytical methods developed by the project team will be applied to each case study building, providing valuable technical, financial and regulatory outcomes to aid the decision-making process.

KredEx is a government owned non-profit provider of financial services established in 2001 by the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications (MoEAC). In 2009, KredEx setup the KredEx Revolving Fund. The Fund provided soft loans for multifamily apartment building owners who wished to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency of their homes.

People spend up to 90% of their lives indoors, so it is perhaps not surprising that the quality of the environment created has a significant impact on their health and well-being. What is perhaps even more surprising is that the indoor air quality of some buildings, including modern low energy buildings, has been shown to be poorer than urban outdoor air quality.
