Dublin City Council awarded its first Energy Performance Contract (EPC) project to Noel Lawler Green Energy Solutions in July 2016, working closely with Dublin’s Energy Agency Codema in procuring this contract to upgrade three of its Sports and Fitness Facilities. The project was supported under the SEAI National Energy Services Framework, as well as the European project EESI2020, co-funded under H2020.

On 13th November European Parliament completed the parliamentary approval of half of the eight legislative proposals in the 2016 Clean Energy for All Europeans package, following the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive, which came into force on 9 July.

The new training programmes on deep energy retrofit developed by the Horizon 2020 project Fit-to-NZEB are uploaded and ready for use by any interested training institution.
This is the major outcome of the first year of the promising EU-financed project demonstration ambition to change the landscape in the vocational training and educational system as related to energy efficiency in the building sector in 7 focus countries – Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy and Romania, and even beyond.

The aim of this report is to present the results of the first part of the ECCoPro consultation process: October 2017 to January 2018.
The first part of the report describes how a framework for holistic energy efficiency training of building professionals could operate. The second part presents an attempt to define key energy efficiency skills for each group of building professionals.
