Are you planning to renovate a building? Would you like to combine energy efficiency improvements with architectural additions? The EU-funded ABRACADABRA project has developed 3 decision support tools for this purpose which you can test for free. Case study buildings should either have planned energy renovations or have already undergone renovations. Tools and analytical methods developed by the project team will be applied to each case study building, providing valuable technical, financial and regulatory outcomes to aid the decision-making process.

The Biodiversum Visitor Centre is located in Remerschen on the edge of the Haff Réimech Nature Reserve.    The visitor centre building was designed to be closely tied to the land making it very relevant to the functions and activities of the centre itself. It has a low impact on the surrounding landscape and is purposely integrated into the environment where the project benefits from the redevelopment of a brownfield on a former industrial site in Remerschen.

As the “Tour de France” pack of cyclists just biked the first kilometres of the race, the first snapshot is presented of the 236 public and private commercial buildings that have taken the lead in the 2017 Contest for better Use and Building Efficiency CUBE 2020. At the end of April, after four months of efforts, the candidates have a cumulative 3.2% of annual energy savings (that is to say a prospect of 10% by the end of the year) and 3.3% of greenhouse gas reductions. A dozen candidates passed the 10% threshold.
