BERTIM develops a prefabricated solution which provides the opportunity to renovate improving energy performance, air quality, aesthetics, comfort, and property value at the same time, while ensuring low intrusiveness during renovation works.   The manufacturing of the solution is included in a holistic methodology for the renovation project process, from data collecting to installation.

The Swiss BiPV Competence Centre was created in 2005 within the Institute for Applied Sustainability to the Built Environment (ISAAC).   It aims to combine the competences of the department of Architecture of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) with those of ISAAC offering a new and appropriate approach to photovoltaics for architects.

The CPAS of Forest Municipality of Brussels brought together its various services there in 2005.  To preserve the façade (exterior walls, windows and doors), the walls have been insulated from the inside by 20 cm of cellulose.
