For the 7th year in a row, the Construction21 network is launching its Green Solutions Awards. The kick-off is given on March 14 at MIPIM, on the BNP Paribas Real Estate booth, sponsor of the competition.This contest is the concrete embodiment of all statements on ecological transition: it promotes already existing solutions, integrated in building, districts and infrastructures, which, if they are replicated on a broad scale, have a real capacity to fight against climate change.

HOUSEFUL proposes an innovative paradigm shift towards a circular economy for the housing sector. The main goal is to develop and demonstrate an integrated systemic service (HOUSEFUL Service) composed of 11 circular solutions co-created by stakeholders in current housing value chain. The HOUSEFUL Service will aim at the circular management and efficient use of water, waste, energy and material resources for all stages of European building’s life-cycle.

By the end of 2019, Member States are required to notify their policies and measures and explain how they add up to meeting the energy savings requirement set out by Article 7, as part of their integrated national energy and climate plans (NECPs). Over the period from 2021 to 2030, the total amount of energy to be saved in the EU under Article 7 equates to more than three times the annual energy consumption of France, meaning that it will be a key contribution to meeting the EU 32.5% energy efficiency target and to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

On 12th March the 2019 call for proposals for the Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy topics of the Horizon 2020 EU funding programme was launched. The funding is available for proposals submitted under 16 topics addressing 5 main areas: buildings, industry, finance, public authorities and policy support and consumer and services.   The deadline for submission of proposals is 3rd September 2019.
