The project “Developing Sustainable Energy Investment (SEI) metrics, benchmarks and assessment tools for the financial sector” is funded by the European Commission as a part of the European Union’s research funding program Horizon 2020 under grant agreement No 649982.
The overall objective of the project is twofold: First to measure the alignment of investment portfolios with climate related energy transition goals and second to seek to address the general challenge of shifting capital towards sustainable energy and energy efficiency investments.
In order to tackle this challenge, the SEI Metrics project works to provide the following results:
- Developing a comprehensive assessment framework that allows investors to measure and manage their climate performance.
- Developing a turnkey toolbox for investors that can be used by them for their asset allocation strategies.
- Fostering a dialogue on sustainable energy investment between investors and policy-makers through publications and workshops.
