Smart and flexible 100% renewable district heating and cooling systems for European cities     SmartReFlex, an Intelligence Energy Europe (IEE) project, aimed to inspire the development of sustainable district heating and cooling solutions for the future by setting up an exchange of ideas, expertise and experience.   The project actions have aimed at increasing the diffusion of smart and flexible district heating and cooling systems including high shares of renewable energy sources (high-RES DHC) in European towns and cities.

The 4DH Strategic Research Centre, the RE-INVEST project and Aalborg University invite researchers and experts from industry and businesses to the 3rd international Conference on Smart Energy Systems and 4th Generation District Heating. This year’s conference takes place at 12-13 September 2017 in Copenhagen.   The aim of the conference is to present and discuss scientific findings and industrial experiences related to the subject of Smart Energy Systems based on renewable energy and future 4th Generation District Heating Technologies and Systems (4GDH).

“BUILDING AND DISTRICT Thermal Retrofit and Management Solutions.”   The THERMOSS project aims to produce an outstanding contribution to the wider deployment of advanced building heating and cooling technologies in the EU, addressing the challenge of 30% energy consumption reduction in buildings and 20% in districts. THERMOSS was funded by the European Commission under its HORIZON 2020 programme for Energy-Efficient Buildings. Twelve partners from EU and Switzerland will collaborate for the 42 months of the project duration.
