The Pan-European Thermal Atlas (PETA) is an interactive map that shows data on the thermal resources available in any region as well as EU-wide thermal demand. PETA maps heat and cooling demand, the local density of both demands, available waste heat resources and the potential for renewable energy sources.

Through the Heat Network Delivery Unit funding scheme, the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has awarded almost £7 million to local authorities across the country over the past year, to help develop local heat networks. As a result, there are now around 2,000 heat networks in the UK, supplying local, renewable heat to 210,000 homes and 1,700 commercial and public buildings.

REMOURBAN Press release no. 1 – Valladolid, 29 January 2015. The Kick off meeting for REMOURBAN, a far-reaching European project to create a sustainable urban regeneration model combining the latest developments in energy, mobility and ICT will take place the 17th of February. From 17 to 19 February, Valladolid-based Fundación CARTIF will be hosting the REMOURBAN project kick off meeting. This project has been selected under the EU’s Lighthouse project scheme whose guiding principles are impact and replicability.
