Today the European Commission unveiled the long-awaited “Clean Energy for All Europeans” Package, an extensive set of legislative proposals revising key directives for the housing sector on energy efficiency and renewables.If the European Union is to continue as the frontrunner in climate change talks, this package will be fundamental.

The European Commission unveils its much awaited Winter Package, entitled ‘Clean Energy for all Europeans’, including proposals for reviewing the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). EuroACE, whose member companies employ over 280 000 workers in the sector of energy efficient buildings, welcomes these publications as an opportunity to start improving the regulatory framework and make it fit for accelerating investments in energy renovation works.

eceee welcomes the fact that the Commission is promoting Energy Efficiency First in the Clean Energy for All Europeans package. A strong improvement in energy efficiency is necessary if the EU is to deliver on the Paris Agreement, and it is also important as part of energy security. The cheapest and cleanest source of energy is the energy that does not need to be produced or used.

The European Commission has released the long-awaited Energy package, gathering legal proposals on energy policies.   Towards an Energy Union based on former 2030 targets and Paris Agreement The package intends to create an Energy Union based on the principles enounced in February 2015.  It is grounded on the targets and commitment announced during the Energy Council in October 2014 ahead of the COP21 Paris Agreement.
