In order to access the untapped potential of energy savings it is essential for public authorities at regional and local levels to clearly identify and better understand the barriers to energy efficiency investments. Although innovative financing schemes might offer solutions to overcome some of these barriers, their implementation finds itself hindered by obstacles. The comprehension of these issues is crucial to developing and strengthening innovative and best practice methods that promote sustainable and cost-effective financing options.

This includes the use of private funds and innovative financing instruments, notably in the building and industry sectors. Speakers will focus on practical experience in developing, structuring and financing energy efficiency investment programmes. The event will allow time for debate.
