The 6th International LafargeHolcim Forum will be dedicated to the topic of “Re-materializing Construction”, and the format of the event will be similar to the previous symposiums, including four working streams with mobile workshops. The Academic Committee of the LafargeHolcim Foundation is responsible for content, contributions and the outline of the Forum.

Building Green is a growing event in Scandinavia which expanded with another edition in Denmark in 2017 to reach as many as possible! Our mission is to illuminate the importance of sustainable building and thinking. Building Green was established in 2011 and has since been developed and improved over the years. The event is not only an exhibition with products and solutions but also a platform of knowledge consisting of international keynotes, relevant debates, idea pitching and much more.
The event is free of charge.

Bringing nature back into cities can help fight global warming.
Fighting climate change is the challenge of the century. The last UN Environment Emissions Gap Report warned that, in order to ensure global warming stays below 2°C, efforts should be tripled, and if we want to stay below 1.5°C, they should be increased around five times.

The research project EFIResources: Resource Efficient Construction towards Sustainable Design supports European policies related to the efficient use of resources in construction. Its major goal is the development of a performance-based approach for sustainable design, enabling to assess the resource efficiency of buildings, throughout the complete life cycle.

On 12th December the World Green Building Council launched a new guide to creating healthier homes that in turn, are healthier for the planet. The guide takes a combination of the latest research into air quality, thermal and acoustic comfort and lighting and translates it into simple, low-cost and practical strategies to make the home environment healthier for both people and planet.

Today, over 20 countries from the World Green Building Council's Europe Network, (WorldGBC Europe) have signed an open letter urging the European Commission to recognise the vital role of the built environment sector in delivering a climate neutral Europe. The letter comes as European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete, outlines the European Commission’s vision for a climate neutral Europe at COP24.

The recent IPCC report removes all doubt: the building and construction sector must decarbonise by 2050 to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. As nations all over the globe tackle operational emissions from buildings, we must challenge ourselves to address our sector’s total emissions impact if we are to deliver a truly net zero carbon building stock. COP24 must mark the beginning of a major global campaign to take on this challenge - one on which Europe must lead the world.
