Energy and beyond: Sustainable Building Certificates - DGNB

Share this Post:
Dear all, I have recently heard of a Sustainable Building Certificate that is becoming increasingly applied and demanded in Germany, it is called DGNB (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen) (http://www.dgnb.de/_en/). It is presented as a "second generation" certificate since it tackles aspects beyond energy use, life-cycle perspective analysis in both cost (LCC) and impacts related to materials (LCA). Another interesting feature is that the DGNB is looking for partners in other countries of the world in order to adapt the certificate conditions to the local aspects. I wonder if any of you have experience with such certificate and if you could share some thoughts with us, strong and weak points etc. Thank you, Best regards, Unai Arrieta
