EUREKA 2017: Register your place and help shape the future of the HVACR sector

“Sustainable technologies for a better life” is the guiding theme of the second edition of EUREKA, a conference organised by EPEE and EVIA, two associations headquartered in Brussels and representing the HVACR industry in Europe. EUREKA 2017 will take place on December 11 & 12 in Berlin and will once again represent a unique opportunity to engage with professionals from across the HVACR value chain and help shape the future of our sector.

The conference discussions last year resulted in a Visionary Paper which aims to help the industry adapt their products and services to the requirements and demands of future consumers, namely so-called “Generation Z” - those born between the mid-1990s and early 2000s.

“EUREKA 2017 will take last year’s findings one step further by actively engaging with Generation Z in a unique, cross-generation debate,” said Andrea Voigt, Director General of EPEE.  “We will also discuss the different trends that can be found in the Visionary Paper and debate whether our sector can take up the challenges listed therein.”

What does this mean for the HVACR industry? What sort of products will satisfy future generations? And what policies will be needed to help create the right conditions for industry to develop and market these products?

These are just some of the questions that will be discussed during the interactive brainstorming sessions at EUREKA 2017 following interventions by high-level keynote speeches from representatives of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy and the German Institute of Economic Research. Other speakers include international organisations such as the United Nations, European and international associations, governments, NGOs, industry, and academia.

“It is clear that maintaining the status quo is not an option and that industry will need to transform itself in order to be truly resilient and sustainable. This is why EUREKA 2017 is an important opportunity for professionals that should not be missed” concludes Andrea Voigt.

“Future customers will want the industry to provide solutions which empower them while maximising their comfort and well-being,” adds Russell Patten, Secretary General of EVIA. “Being thus prepared, the sector can turn challenges into opportunities and continue to provide heating, cooling and ventilation every day across the world.”
