This report is a summary of the main recommendations on summer comfort and efficient cooling in buildings, drawn through the ASIEPI project. It addresses policy makers, developers of calculation methods, building practitioners, associations of architects and building practitioners, and building owners. The aim of these recommendations is to suggest ways of: 1) protecting the building against overheating and against the need to install active cooling in the future, 2) making alternative cooling techniques a top priority in national regulations and practical applications rather than conventional cooling systems, 3) improving the current national energy performance procedures and thus enhancing energy savings from cooling. In Part B of the report an overview of all project material that is available on this topic is given. In Part C a brief description of the overall project, its partners and sponsors is given.
