Towards the era of low-cost, precise measurements of IEQs

A recent paper published in the Journal 'Sensor' presents the development of the EQ-OX system, a low-cost device for high-accuracy, simultaneous detection of indoor environmental quality parameters.

As well as indoor air quality, it is now well known that there are many parameters to consider when talking about indoor environmental quality (IEQ). Visual, acoustic, and hygrothermal factors can also affect psychophysical well-being and so far standard indoor air quality detectors still do not meet the need to measure all these parameters. Moreover, there is still room for enhancing the accuracy of these devices.

A recent study illustrates the development of Environmental Quality Box (EQ-OX) systems that address these needs, exploiting low-cost sensors and lighter but more efficient algorithms for calibration.
