Video and survey on innovative schools renovation with prefabricated wooden elements   In the framework of the RENEW SCHOOL research project (www.renew-school.eu) a video has been developed to show successful examples of school building renovation using prefabricated timber components which integrate several interesting functions and reach high performance levels.

Today, 29/04/2016, the Concerted Action EPBD releases its 2016 report "Implementing the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) – Featuring Country Reports." It analyses and compares implementation of the Directive across the 28 EU Member States and Norway.   The report is built around two parts: part A describes the main accomplishments and remaining challenges on a selection of major topics covered by the EPBD, part B provides a detailed overview of implementation in each country.

On April 20th, Vice –President of ITRE Committee Vice-President Morten Helveg Petersen hosted an event at the European Parliament on EPBD Revision.   The breakfast event addressed the best manner to ensure energy efficiency and ensure healthy and affordable buildings in Europe. Furthermore, Velux's 2016 Healthy Home baromoter  was presented.

New tender notice has been launched - PROBIS project   ALER Bergamo – Lecco – Sondrio, in coordination with Regione Lombardia has published an open tender related to the public procurement of innovation (PPI) for the refurbishment of two buldings located in Treviglio, North Italy.   The works forecast the use of innovative technologies and products for the thermal insulation, windows’ frames, the revamping of thermal plants and the energy management systems, for a total amount above 1,2 Million of Euros.

The city builds on an award-winning initiative with expansion of public solar carport.   The installation at the Ken Martin Leisure Centre is currently the UK’s largest solar carport, spanning nine separate, specially built roofs. The 355 panels will generate 80,000 kWh of electricity and cut the council’s carbon footprint by almost 40 tonnes a year.
