Only a drastic reduction in global energy demand will allow an affordable manageable transition to a global energy system based on renewables and ambitious energy efficiency measures are key to meet sustainability goals. Global growth in energy use is largely outpacing decarbonisation and in 2018, primary energy intensity – an important indicator of how much energy is used by the global economy – improved by just 1.2%, the slowest rate since 2010.

It is based on national data for greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy and energy consumption.

Yes we can!”.

Build a fully recycled house? Yes, you can with RE4 prefabricated building elements incorporating up to 100% of construction demolition waste! RE4 is a H2020 project which after 4 years has developed and tested on three demo sites in Europe and one demo in Taiwan, an energy efficient prefabricated elements for building refurbishment and construction, including an innovative mobile robotic sorting system.   Now the project is at its end and would like to share the outcomes during the four consecutive webinars.

Building renovation is often considered a burden usually associated with time-consuming planning, uncertainty about the costs and value of the planned measures, dust and unreliable professionals.   The iBRoad project focuses on an evolution of existing energy audit products and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in order to become a real driver for deep renovations.

The iBRoad individual Building Renovation Roadmap and Logbook were field-tested in Bulgaria, Poland and Portugal from March to May 2019. In parallel, the iBRoad Logbook was also field-tested in Germany. During the field test, 15 – 20 buildings per pilot country were examined in cooperation with certified local energy auditors. The local energy agencies, KAPE, EnEffect and ADENE, managed the field tests in their respective countries and strongly supported the implementation.
