AimThe aim of campaign is to enable country-specific discussion and capacity building of the core stakeholders, which should enable better understanding of a business model based on investments financed by savings, address issues such as accounting of public deficit and debt, increase the confidence of the core stakeholders towards reliability and effectiveness of the EPC model, and help Member States with establishing an enabling legal and financial framework for the market with energy services.

Hannover, 22.11.2012 – More than half of the overall world population is living in urban areas - with rising tendency. The permanently increasing urbanization can be driven to more sustainability by ecological concepts for mobility, energy-efficient buildings and intelligent energy supply. Intelligent energy supply had also been the main subject of the well-attended “Sustainable Energy in Buildings and Urban Areas” Symposium (SEBUA 2012) which took place in Kusadasi near Izmir/Turkey from October 14 – 20, 2012.

Article 14(3) of the Directive on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources (Directive 2009/28/EC or RES Directive) states that "Member States shall ensure that certification schemes or equivalent qualification schemes become or are available by 31 December 2012 for installers of small-scale biomass boilers and stoves, solar photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, shallow geothermal systems and heat pumps.

Energy Community Energy Efficiency Task Force is an expert group which supports various aspects of implementation of energy efficiency directives (including EPBD) in the Contracting Parties of the Energy Community (Western Balkan countries, Moldova and Ukraine).

This training programme is offered by the Croatian Chamber of Mechanical Engineers and consists of 2 modules. Module 1 is for those wishing to perform energy certifications of buildings with simple technical systems, while Module 2 (in addition to Module 1) must be attended by those wishing to be authorised for certification of buildings with complex technical systems.

IEE SUSTAINCO project aims to support the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) - 2010/31/EU) into national legislation in the project's partner countries. The project will help to build capacity for the development of Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB), promote sustainable development of rural communities, facilitate knowledge transfer from Sustainable Energy for the Rural Village Environment (SERVE-FP6 CONCERTO) and create an information campaign to engage rural regions in the Covenant of Mayors (CoM).
