This guide from the French Program RAGE 2012 concerns naturally ventilated double skin facades.
It describes the design and construction of double skin facades with a cavity (buffer) between the two skins that is naturally ventilated. It provides information for double skin facades both with narrow cavities (between 200 and 600 mm width) and large cavities (over 600 mm width).
It shows why and how double skin facades bring stability and mechanical soundness, impact resistance, fire safety and thermal performance.
In addition, this guide suggests a methodology for the energy performance calculation of building with such facades.
