On 29 May 2020 in the framework of its digital General Assembly, the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) presented its 2019 Annual Report & 2020 Outlook, summarising the organisation‘s activities for the previous year and plans for the future.
The ACE Annual Report gives the reader a snapshot of the many important activities, studies, publications, and events carried out together with the participation of the Creative Europe programme to raise the awareness of the value of architecture and architects in many ways.
“ACE had an active year 2019. At the end of 2018, Architecture gained its rightful place in the Council Work Plan for Culture which includes a Chapter High-quality architecture and built environment for everyone highlighting architecture as a discipline that encompasses the right balance between cultural, social, economic, environmental and technical aspects for the common good. The Plan strongly supports the previously published Davos Declaration: “Towards a high quality Baukultur for Europe” where culture plays a central role in the environment shaped by humans (which includes architecture, heritage, public space and landscape). Innovative and inclusive processes are needed to deliver and preserve quality architecture, to develop an integrated approach contributing to the well-being of all citizens.” georg pendl, ACE President.
