Build a fully recycled house? Yes, you can with RE4 prefabricated building elements incorporating up to 100% of construction demolition waste! RE4 is a H2020 project which after 4 years has developed and tested on three demo sites in Europe and one demo in Taiwan, an energy efficient prefabricated elements for building refurbishment and construction, including an innovative mobile robotic sorting system. Now the project is at its end and would like to share the outcomes during the four consecutive webinars.

Besides energy efficiency, the new zero carbon standard also considers the upfront carbon emissions associated with the construction of the homes. It also encourages home builders to actually measure how the homes perform after they are purchased and lived in.

This scheme will support these communities to deliver energy upgrades to nearly 700 homes and 570 community and commercial buildings in their local area, eliminating 34,676 tonnes of CO2 annually – this is the equivalent of taking more than 11,000 internal combustion engine cars off the road.
Reducing emissions from buildings is a key action under the government's Climate Action Plan.

Fit-to-nZEB, a Horizon 2020 project continuing the legacy of the BUILD UP Skills Initiative within the Construction Skills topical area, aims to increase the competence and skills of the building professionals in 7 European countries - Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy and Romania - through unique educational programmes and pilot training courses, which will contribute to both the quality and the scale of the deep energy building renovations throughout EU.
