The Advancing Net Zero (ANZ) Status Report 2020 highlights leadership action from GBCs and the building and construction sector towards achieving total sector decarbonisation. On June 28, 2016, the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) launched a new project aiming to ensure that all buildings are “net zero” by 2050. The project involves eight green building councils from Australia, Brazil, Canada, German, India, the Netherlands, South Africa and Sweden initially, and Architecture 2030 as lead partner to provide technical expertise.
