European ‘Energy Days’ kick started in Lund, Sweden
An early start to celebrating the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) ‘energy days’ began in Lund, Sweden, with an open invitation for politicians, municipal officials, researchers and more to discuss sustainable district renewal.
Held on 17 May, the CITyFiED project demonstration site and partners made a perfect tangible example for exchanging some inspirational ideas about how to build a sustainable city.

REMOURBAN (REgeneration MOdel for smart URBAN transformation) is a lighthouse Horizon 2020 project whose ultimate goal is to design and validate an urban regeneration model in the cities of Nottingham (UK), Valladolid (Spain) and Tepebasi/Eskisehir (Turkey), while maximising its replication potential in two follower cities, Seraing (Belgium) and Miskolc (Hungary).

The REMOURBAN project, in cooperation with the Action Cluster on Integrated Planning from the European Innovation Partnership on SCC and the Smart Cities Information System organised its first Study Tour in the lighthouse city of Nottingham, hosted by the Nottingham Trent University.

Unpicking the Secrets to Sustainable Urban Renovation and Regeneration
The CITyFiED consortium met in at demonstration site Laguna de Duero, Spain 27 and 28 February 2017 to keep the project on track to achieving substantial energy savings, emissions reductions and a climate of confidence for energy efficient renovations across Europe.

One of CITyFiED ’s main objectives is to help cities get smarter, faster. By sharing a wealth of experiences in district level renovation and regeneration, the project can be a risk-saver, cost-saver and time-saver for cities, agencies and industries that occasionally struggle to hit Europe’s ambitious energy targets and deliver scalable change. Nine Lighthouse Projects pledged closer cooperation in their efforts towards low carbon and resource efficient urban spaces
In their efforts to deliver and replicate Smart City solutions, the EU’s nine Lighthouse projects formally signed a Cooperation Manifesto in Nottingham (UK) on 23 March, 2017.

Lighthouse project Remourban will be opening its doors this month with its first study tour taking place in the lighthouse city Nottingham, UK.
Behind the tour are the project partners Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Trent University. The tour has been organised in cooperation with the Action Cluster on Integrated Planning of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities and the Smart Cities Information System.
