The final version of the Integrated Design Process Guidelines have been published in Slovakian and are available on the website of the MaTrID Project. These guidelines aims at providing a clear step-by-step explanation about implementing an Integrated Design (ID) process, by reducing the complexity of the design process and facilitating the interactions between the members of the design team.

Integrated (Energy) Design (ID) is the general term for a collaborative approach aimed at optimising a scheme’s design in order that it might be better able to deliver a Tenant’s occupational requirements. The use of ID for the development of pre-let buildings brings benefits to the future tenants, as well as to the Client and team undertaking the design and construction. This summary is intended to introduce these benefits and encourage Tenants to embed ID as requirement in Agreement to Lease (pre-let) contracts with building developers.

The Integrated Energy Design (IED) concept is vital for a successful implementation of nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB) involving different professions on achieving energy performance requirements since the very beginning of the design process of a building. The IED approach is used as a starting point to promote nZEBs within Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs) and within other municipal energy roadmaps such as Climate Alliance and e5-communities in Austria. Such SEAP development has been initiated within the frame of AIDA, a project co-funded by the European Commission.
