The Commission is in the process of updating some of the content on this website in light of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. If the site contains content that does not yet reflect the withdrawal of the United Kingdom, it is unintentional and will be addressed.

According to Art.5 p.3 of the updated Building Code, each owner of a building or apartment which is rented or sold, as well as a developer of a new building, should posses and be able to present to the future user/buyer a valid energy certificate. Certificates are valid for 10 years, unless the building is the object of major renovation which changes its energy characteristic. The Ministry of Construction, responsible in Poland for EPBD implementation, decided that all requirements related to the Directive will be introduce into the Building Code. On the 19th September 07, the Parliament accepted the necessary changes and on 5th October 07, the president signed the voted Act. The official version of the new Building Code is presented in the Journal of Acts no. 191, item1373, dated 18th October 2007.
