The project SECURE (Smarter Energy Communities in Northern & Arctic Regions) aims to foster energy-secure communities through the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions.   It will achieve this by transferring and implementing innovative energy solutions for housing and public infrastructures in seven regions across the Northern Periphery and Arctic programme area.   Stakeholders will study effective technologies and good practice approaches that promote the increased use of energy efficiency and renewable energy resources.

The Horizon 2020 funded DREEAM project (Demonstrating an integrated Renovation approach for Energy Efficiency At the Multi-building scale) aims to show that renovating at a larger scale opens the opportunity for a better integration of renewable energy and is generally more cost effective. The project demonstrates a multi-building and single owner renovation approach that can achieve a 75% reduction of total energy demand.

The EU funded CITYOPT project (Holistic simulation and optimization of energy systems in Smart Cities) aims to make cities smarter through applications and guidelines supporting efficient planning, detailed design and operation of energy systems in urban districts. The specific target is to engage users with the new CITYOPT applications, create new partnerships connecting city leaders and stakeholders and create new business models for decision support systems for energy efficient neighbourhoods.
