The Horizon 2020 funded TESSe2b project (Thermal Energy Storage Systems for Energy Efficient Buildings) will enable the optimal use of renewable energy and provide one of the most advantageous solutions for correcting the mismatch that often occurs between the supply and demand of energy in residential buildings. The target of TESSe2b is to design, develop, validate and demonstrate a modular and low cost thermal storage technology based on solar collectors and highly efficient heat pumps for heating, cooling and domestic hot water (DHW) production.

Die BINE Projektinfo präsentiert ein energieeffizientes Quartiersprojekt in der Münchner Innenstadt. Im Stadtteil Haidhausen wurde von der städtischen Wohnungsgesellschaft GWG ein Komplex aus mehreren Mehrfamilienhäusern aus den 1950er Jahren energetisch saniert, nachverdichtet und CO2-neutral mit Wärme versorgt. Das Kernstück des Nahwärmeheizsystems ist eine Gasmotor-Wärmepumpe, die Grundwasser als Wärmequelle nutzt und die Gebäude beheizt und das Trinkwarmwasser erzeugt.

Data centres are among the biggest electrical energy consumers. In the Renew IT project scientists from five countries examined how data centres could be supplied almost entirely with renewable energy. The school was built in 2012/13 as a public private partnership. The main energy related targets were to achieve passive house standard, to use prefabricated timber facades and renewable energy sources. The building should reach high indoor environment quality and fulfil the measures set in the Norwegian “Cities of the Future” - a collaboration between the government and the 13 largest cities in Norway to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make the cities better places to live.   General information

The EU funded CHESS-SETUP  project (Combined HEat SyStem by using Solar Energy and heaT pUmPs) aims to design, implement and promote a reliable, efficient and profitable system able to supply heating and hot water in buildings mainly from renewable sources. The proposed system is based on an optimal combination of solar thermal energy production, seasonal heat storage and the use of highly efficient heat pump.
