An important output of ZERO-PLUS project has been published. The report titled “Sample Business Plan for Commercial-Scale implementation of the technologies and processes developed in the project” lays out potential directions for the commercial exploitation of the tools and methodology developed during the ZERO-PLUS project.

New report from BPIE – the Buildings Performance Institute Europe - highlights that more than half of EU Member States are six months late to submit their national Long-Term Renovation Strategies (LTRS), a key element of Europe’s strategy to decarbonise the building stock. Of those submitted only one is fully compliant with EU legislation.

The idea is to introduce energy saving measures in 60,000 households per year until 2030, local media reported. The government will subsidize up to 85% of each investment while the maximum amount per household will be EUR 50,000, according to the Institute of Energy for South-East Europe.   The start of the program is planned for this fall, while similar measures could be introduced for public buildings, tourism, and industry in the next phase.

The STEP-IN project has rolled out living labs for hundreds of energy vulnerable citizens in three locations in the UK, Hungary and Greece through public workshops and free home energy advisor visits, testing different solutions in an iterative process. The tailored support, in some cases combined with monitoring equipment, has allowed households to make important savings by, for example, replacing old appliances or switching energy suppliers.
