The second European Vocational Skills week will take place Brussels (Belgium) and various other locations, 20-24 November 2017.

Mid-March, Commissioner Marianne Thyssen announced that there will be a Second European Vocational Skills Week taking place in 2017 (The first one took place in December 2016 and mobilized 1000 associated events and activities across Europe).

The theme remains "Discover Your Talent" encouraging continuous training at all stages of life, with a strong focus on the importance of quality and excellence in VET.

These topics will also be addressed:

  • Mobility of VET learners (of all ages) and quality apprentices,
  • partnerships between businesses and VET providers
  • sectoral approaches to address skills mismatches
  • response to rapidly changing skill needs

One of the activities to showcase excellence in VET is the #CedefopPhotoAward. Run by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), learners are invited to participate in a photo story competition (see guidelines here) by producing a series of photographs which will showcase collective experience in the world of VET.

Deadline for submission to CedefopPhotoAward: 15 July at 23.59 CET.
