This paper presents the basis of 6R1C model of building heat exchange with the outer environment. The lumped capitance method used for whole building is utilized to get equations of simply extended 5R1C to 6R1C hour method. The ventilation heat tranfer coefficient was divided to controlled ventilation heat transfer coefficient and infiltration heat transfer coefficient. This extended method can be used for more precise calculation of heat and cool demand for building and is adopted in Poland for determining energy performance class for nonresidential buildings as required by EU Energy Performance Building Directive.
