The historic residential building is located in the city center of Bolzano. It was built in 1926, near the old town, and it has hardly been changed on the outside, thanks to well thought-out renovation measures from the inside which ensure a new level of comfort and a minimization of the energy demand of the building.

Buildings account for around 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions in the European Union.
Curtains walls, associated with modern architecture and large office building stock, are often criticized for their limited insulation properties. Existing buildings, including historical ones, are responsible for up to 60% energy losses through the envelope.

This timber-framed building is located in Saint-Samson-la-Poterie in the Oise region (northern France), over Paris, and especially in the natural region called "Pays de Bray".
It was the barn of a landlord housing of the 17th century and it has recently been retrofitted and restored by the owner himself. A careful work on the materials and on the execution was made.

The project belongs to a larger urban intervention with the new Grand Parc in Bordeaux, with green area and public spaces, and it occupies a central place in redefining the neighbourhood. It also has an identity vocation because it constitutes a visual catch from the perspective created by the plot where it is located. The volume, simple but slightly decomposed, expresses the public and private use of the building and highlights a forecourt that opens on the urban project of the Grand Parc.

The renovation of the residential complex of Via Passeggiata dei Castani is one of the interventions developed within the FP7 Smart City project SINFONIA and has been concluded at the beginning of 2019.
The area is located in the east side of the city of Bolzano, under a mountain and the complex has been build in the ‘90ies. The complex is owned by the Municipality of Bolzano and it is composed by two buildings, that have 72 apartments distributed by four staircases for a total surface of 7456 m2.

This hard-stone elementary school is located in Mulhouse in the Alsace region (north-eastern France), near the border with Germany. It is a listed building, since it was built in XXVIII sec as a spinning factory at a time which Mulhouse had an active textile industry and became a school in 1870. It has recently been retrofitted with a project balanced between low energy consumption and heritage preservation, with the availability of a constraint budget.

The building is used as a residential, and the aim of the renovation has been the conservation of the ancient walls of the medieval castle, considering modern comfort standards with the target of achieving a building ad a high standard of energy efficiency, (i.e. the NZEB standard).
