Webinar | 5 European projects with its innovative ICT solutions for energy savings in the spotlight

This webinar is organized by BUILD UP editorial board with the coordinators of European Research Projects that are aiming to achieve a behavior change for energy saving through innovative IT solutions.


Under H2020 program, the European Commission (EC) is investing in projects that aim to develop IT tools that are attractive for its users and therefore leading to a long-term behavior change for energy savings. Five of such funded projects are: MOBISTYLE, UtilitEE, eTEACHER, FEEdBACk and inBetween.


Each project representative has had an opportunity to pitch their project and the developed solutions:


  • MOBISTYLE – Motivating end-users behavioral change by combined ICT based tools and modular information services on energy use, indoor environment, health and lifestyle

Speaker: Ana Tisov - Huygen Installatie Adviseurs (NL) presented project’s concept of combining information related to energy, IEQ and personal wellbeing and the solutions developed so far: MOBISTYLE Game, Dashboard, Office App and Expert tool.


Project start – end date: 1.10.2019-31.3.2020


  • UtilitEE – Utility business model transformation through human-centric behavioral interventions and ICT tools for Energy Efficiency

Speaker: Evangelos Zacharis – Hypertech Energy Labs (GR) presented the framework of UtilitEE ICT solution and achieved results so far in terms of engaging the end-consumers to increase their awareness on energy behavior and transforming the utilities business models into more flexible and service-oriented.

  • eTEACHER – End-users tools to empower and raise awareness of behavioral change towards energy efficiency,

Speaker: Dr. Gloria Calleja-Rodríguez – CEMOSA (Spain) presented eTEACHER concept and solutions based on processing information from buildings and users, integrating behavioural change techniques and providing tailored advices to save energy and optimise indoor environmental quality.


Project start – end date: 1.10.2017 – 30.09.2020


  • FEEdBACk – Fostering energy efficiency and behavioral change through ICT

Speaker: Patrícia Vale - Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC) –  has introduced FEEdBACk project, its concept and solutions. ECOplay is the name of the application developed under the project and will be presented as the ICT tool that will promote the energy efficiency through behavioural change in three pilots located in Portugal (offices’ building), Spain (public building) and Germany (dwellings).

  • inBetween – ICT enabled behavioral change towards energy efficient lifestyles

Speakers: Federica Fuligni – RINA Consulting (Italy) presented IN-BETWEEN concept and solutions deployed at residential and public buildings to enhance energy savings by promoting behavioural changes.



Dr. Marko Batić – Institute Mihajlo Pupin (Serbia) presented developed energy services and the corresponding GUI of the IN-BETWEEN cloud platform.

At the end, 30 min Q&A session has allowed an exchange of views and information between the project representatives and the audience.
