The search for answers has prompted a new look at what architects and their buildings can do to help, both now and in the future.

The scope of the project is to promote, though architecture, the set-up of a collaborative community living in passive houses. In fact, the building has shared facilities, encouraging social contacts and individual space in a community managed the residents.
Each household is independent, but there is a common space for activities, such as crafts, guest rooms, and the provision by the community of three meals per week. As far as possible the scheme uses natural building materials.

The AIVC board decided in their last (online) meeting of September 2020 to start a project to collect, discuss and disseminate information about COVID-19 in relation to ventilation and airtightness.
A working group was created to define and carry out the project, with the title ‘Ventilation, airtightness and COVID-19’.

Ventilation is recognized as a major element in strategies for minimizing the risk of COVID infection. REHVA and ASHRAE have developed guidelines taking existing evidence of long-range aerosol based transmission into account including the importance of ventilation.
This webinar will present the guidelines by REHVA and ASHRAE and will also have a closer look to the similarities and differences in both guidelines.

Main goal, scope and ambition
The overall goal of the platform is to increase communication, networking and awareness raising to mobilize the untapped energy savings potential.
The scope of venticool covers as well natural, mechanical and mixed-mode ventilation.
Its ambition is to be THE international meeting point for ventilative cooling related activities.

Interest & awareness in the field of building and ductwork airtightness continues to grow. The TightVent Airtightness Associations Committee is continuously increasing its members and broadening its scope in line with their activities in the field. There is a major role and an inarguable commitment for the TightVent Europe platform to continue disseminating information on these fields.
