New technological methods for increasing quality and quantity of recovered construction & demolition waste, promoting the consideration of end-of-life management of buildings and building components at their design stage, and enhancing awareness of the impact construction materials and debris have on health and the environment, will be presented during the final conference of HISER.

The EU-funded, Horizon 2020 project STUNNING, which promotes knowledge exchange and interaction in the field of energy-efficient building renovation, is conducting a survey on barriers for energy refurbishments to seek out answers and recommendations for the stagnant renovation rate in Europe. Based on the survey’s evaluation, STUNNING will provide insights on the processes that need to take place for the alleviation of the most common obstacles and market failures.

This evaluation report, the first of its kind in Albania, uses the concept of energy poverty and follows the same line concerning the challenge of meeting citizens’ continuing demand for more electricity or other forms of energy for their life activities. The concept connects citizens and the environment in a direct and strong way; enables golden opportunities for the standard of living through the sustainable development goals, and is very relevant to the Albanian reality.

Energy Expo & Forum2018 comes as a second edition to the initial launch of Energy Expo & Forum 2017.
This edition will focus on the high potential in Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, Greece, Croatia and Serbia to invest in electricity. With great unused potential, Albania benefits from huge investment opportunities in this area, which also pertains to current electricity market policies. Are you planning to renovate a building? Would you like to combine energy efficiency improvements with architectural additions? The EU-funded ABRACADABRA project has developed 3 decision support tools for this purpose which you can test for free.
Case study buildings should either have planned energy renovations or have already undergone renovations. Tools and analytical methods developed by the project team will be applied to each case study building, providing valuable technical, financial and regulatory outcomes to aid the decision-making process.

The present report on energy poverty in South East Europe (SEE) is the outcome of The South East Europe Policy (SEE SEP) programme, a European Commission financially supported programme in which several civil society organisations across the region came together to better influence energy policies and practices in SEE.

BPIE analysed both EU and non-EU funding streams available in the region that could be used to improve the energy efficiency of the building stock. The analysis found that both funding supply into the region and demand coming from the region should be stepped up.
