A next generation energy efficiency meter named eensight has been created. The eensight tool is based on machine learning and will contribute to the much-needed advancement of the automated measurement and verification (M&V) methods for portfolios of buildings’ energy efficiency and provide essential insights for investors, legislators, building owners and energy companies to realise their goals.

In this second round, an even larger number of cities will be selected to benefit from tailor-made, fast and simplified support and access the grant of €60,000 to develop their investment concept - an initial step towards a fully-fledged business and financial plan.   The call for applications will be open from 29 March - 31 May.

“Efficiency First” (E1st) is a fundamental principle applied to policymaking, planning and investment in the energy sector, gaining visibility in European energy and climate policy.   The H2020 project enefirst will help making the E1st principle more concrete and operational, better understand its relevance for energy demand and supply and its broader impacts across sectors and markets, focusing on the buildings sector.

This iBRoad output provides a default database supporting a generic techno-economic assessment of renovation measures.   The default database consists of a list of possible renovation measures (building envelope and HVAC system) and their costs.

The iBRoad tools, consisting of the individual Building Renovation Roadmap and Logbook, were field-tested in Bulgaria, Poland and Portugal during the period March to May 2019.   Additionally, the iBRoad Logbook was field-tested in Germany. Prior to field-testing, project partners from the pilot countries received an online train-the-trainer seminar.

Stakeholders mapping is the first and the most important step to identify the most appropriate and valuable stakeholders, how they can contribute to the project development and how they can benefit from the results of the iBRoad.   Stakeholder engagement is a process that depends on the proper identification. This is an elaborated by INZEB report, describing how the national partners, identified iBRoad’s stakeholders per participating country and at an EU level.

The iBRoad project intends to explore, design, develop and demonstrate the concept of individual building renovation roadmaps, outlining a deep step-by-step renovation plan with customised recommendations for individual buildings (the Renovation Roadmap), combined with a repository of building-related information (the Logbook).
