Concept and objectives:
The construction sector is the most resource intensive industrial sector in the EU. It uses around 50% of the available primary raw materials, hence exhausting the natural resources, degrading environment and generating high costs to the business operators.

The Efficient Buildings Community has just developed a new set of recommendations for European and National decision-makers.
The eight recommendations are grounded in the experience of the Mediterranean local authorities and they aim to bring the lessons learned in the discussion about the next generation of energy policies: the European Green Deal, issued by the Commission last December, and the recovery plans in response to Covid-19, currently underway in each Member State.

The modular project TEESCHOOLS is the last project within the Efficient Buildings Community to come to an end. TEESCHOOLS has covered a long distance on the path for the decarbonisation of public building stock. A new publication now collects and presents all the most important outcomes of this journey.

The project BIPV meets History
aims at creating new business perspectives for the building-integrated photovoltaics (BiPV) industry in the renovation of historic buildings in the transnational area between Italy and Switzerland. This project will meet the requirements of local, national and European policies while respecting the heritage and landscape values of the territory.

During its final conference, SHERPA will offer the participants a dynamic debate with European actors and ERB experts on European policies and strategies to achieve the European CO2 reduction and Energy Efficiency targets, with a main focus on Energy Renovation of Buildings.
It will also be an opportunity to highlight the importance of the European Green Deal and the next programming period.

Partner States from 13 countries are working together in the transnational European Cooperation Programme for the Mediterranean area, The Interreg MED Programme 2014-2020.
The transnational setup allows them to tackle challenges beyond national borders, such as the rise of low carbon economy, the protection of natural and cultural resources and the strengthening of innovation.

This tool is a simulation methodology for assessing the thermal performance of Complex Fenestration Systems (CFS). In this simulation approach, solar radiation is treated with a detailed optical model based on ray tracing and using the software Radiance. The resulting absorbed fraction of solar radiation is included in a CFD simulation, performed with COMSOL Multiphysics, capable of modelling both heat transfer and fluid flow.

In the framework of the PV-ESTIA project, the performance of the proposed PV+storage Innovative Management Scheme will be evaluated under real-field conditions. Pilot installations will be selected with the aim to examine if and how the size of the Energy Storage Systems and the different geographical conditions affect the performance of the innovative management scheme. The pilot installations include the following cities:
